چکیده

A recently introduced master program offering a Business Modelling track in the authors' university includes several courses that touch on conceptual modelling topics. They cover both modelling with well-known languages (UML, BPMN etc.), as well as the development of domain-specific modelling software driven by targeted requirements. Consequently, the study program aims to support two complementary modeller perspectives: (i) of the modellers who adopt "de jure" or "de facto" standards that are reusable across domains; (ii) of the modellers who prefer to have a modelling tool tailored for specific needs and their preferred domain-specific abstraction. While the first perspective is quite common and well served in Business Information Systems curricula, the second perspective requires a well-designed minimal case capable of fostering deep understanding of a modelling method's building blocks and of the methodology needed to tailor or evolve those building blocks towards satisfying explicit requirements. The paper reports on such a teaching experience and provides insights regarding its learning design rationale.

Video CooKing: Towards the Synthesis of Multimedia Cooking Recipes

In this paper, we propose the concept of synthesizing a multimedia cooking recipe from a text recipe and a database composed of video clips depicting cooking operations. A multimedia cooking recipe is a cooking recipe where each cooking operation is associated with a corresponding video clip depicting it, aimed to facilitate the understanding of cooking operations. In order to synthesize such a...

Distributed Cooking Recipe Recommendation and Adaptation

In this paper, we propose a distributed recipe recommendation mechanism that utilizes social information for adaptive recipe recommendation in a peer-to-peer (P2P) network. A recipe flavor model is first proposed for modeling recipes and validating recipe adaptations. Peers in the network group themselves into communities in which members share common preferences of recipe data. This is helpful...

User's Food Preference Extraction for Cooking Recipe Recommendation

There are many websites and researches that involve cooking recipe recommendation. However, these websites present cooking recipes on the basis of entry date, access frequency, or the recipe’s user ratings. They do not reflect the user’s personal preferences. We have proposed a personalized recipe recommendation method that is based on the user’s food preferences. For extracting the user’s food...

Gunma University, Kiryu University, and RMIT University at the NTCIR-11 Cooking Recipe Search Task

We report an empirical study of the NTCIR-11[2] Cooking Recipe Search task[4]. A series of experiments was performed in both Japanese and English based on a collaboration that involved research groups from Gunma University, Kiryu University and RMIT University. We compared baseline, oracle, and test search runs in the task. We also report the findings that we obtained from studies of food synon...
